Anitha Shanmugam, AMI Primary Guide
We are delighted to welcome back our new AMI Primary Guide, Ms. Anitha Shanmugam, a veteran AMI guide
with over 15 years of experience. Ms. Anitha initially taught at CountrySide Montessori School for three years
after graduating from the Atlanta Montessori Institute. Her youngest son, Atteendra, attended CountrySide
Montessori school as a primary student during that period. We are so pleased with having her return to us with
her kind and caring personality, that brings out the best in every student!
I am Anitha Shanmugam, a wife, a mother, and a passionate Montessori teacher. I was born in India, and since
1996, I have lived in the U.S. In 2003, I attended the Atlanta Montessori Institute and received my Primary
Montessori certification through the Association Montessori Internationale (AMI). Since then, I have been blessed
to work all these years doing what I love the most. I also have a degree in Accounting from India. My goal as a
Montessori teacher has been to help children develop a love for learning in a peaceful environment where they
can develop socially, academically, and emotionally. I firmly believe that a Montessori education provides the
strongest foundation for children to develop and become great human beings.
“Free the child’s potential, and you will transform him into the world.”
