October Update

Dear Parents:
I am so excited and pleased to be in the classroom with your children to witness the enthusiasm and joy for learning that your children are exhibiting on a daily basis!

Every child is making great strides, from the youngest to the oldest student in our CountrySide Montessori class! As soon as the children enter the classroom, they are busy with writing, math activities, sensorial or practical life work! We have daily discussions in the mornings about being kind and caring to each other, with words and actions. Every day the children are reminded to choose challenging work. We thank you for your support, as well. Children will always rise to the level of your expectations; all of us, parents and teachers, just have to have great expectations!

Here are a few announcements of events for the upcoming week:

School Portraits! Scott Calman, our outstanding school photographer, will take pictures of the children on October 27 at 9:00 am. Please be at CountrySide before 9:00 a.m. Thank you.

Pumpkin Decorating and Piñata Fun Day from 9:20 till 11:45 am on October 27! Instead of a Halloween party, we ask that every child bring a small pumpkin that can be decorated on October 27 from 9:20 until 11:00 am. The children will then have fun with our Piñata! Please us know if you wish to volunteer. It would be nice if several parents could help with the decorating of the pumpkins. We also would appreciate non-sugary treats to fill the Piñata. This year, the children may come in “mild” costumes, but please avoid scary outfits, play weapons, or scary characters. Our very young children would get frightened, so please keep the attire simple and wholesome.  We will have regular afternoon class. If you want to bring a change of clothes for your child, please feel free to do so.

Parent Conferences are planned for October 28.  I will contact each parent to schedule a convenient conference time. We have no school during parent conferences. Thank you!
