Dear Parents and Friends,
August 6th was the first day of our new school year! We are very excited to begin another year of learning, honing previously acquired skills, reconnecting with friends and forging new friendships!
After a wonderful summer camp program, adults and children alike are all ready to get back into a stable, predictable and comforting routine that offers us joy and purpose of activities!
Our children at CountrySide Montessori School blossom in our cheerful and peaceful classroom setting that offers opportunities for children to select appropriate work, giving them time to practice without being rushed, and gaining understanding of more and more complex work as they move through the broad and challenging Montessori Curriculum!
In kindergarten, students learn to add, subtract, multiply and divide with hands-on materials, that give concrete understanding and meaning to abstract terms, such as fractions and place value in math, and verb, article, adjective, adverb, or noun in language. This is not a “one size fits all” approach, but a totally individualized and personalized way of learning and LOVING to learn! We have seen outstanding results, especially since our students are not held back from wanting to learn beyond of what is taught in a traditional kindergarten. Geography is a fascinating topic for our eager learners, along with the solar system, art, music, and science!
We develop strong leadership skills in our children through assigning responsibilities and by raising self-confidence. It is that simple!
During this time, we have strict hygiene protocols in place, yet we do not impede the natural impulse of children in their desire to explore, discover, and enjoy learning! Our students love coming to CountrySide, and they come back to visit over and over again!
