Children Learning to Care for our Outdoor Environment

Gardening Days at CountrySide – Learning to Care for our Outdoor Environment!

Growing our own tomatoes, lettuce, carrots, spinach, radishes, fig tree, cucumbers, basil, beans, strawberries, and cabbage, helps children appreciate the importance of eating fresh vegetables and fruit without the contamination of pesticides. Children also learn how much fun it is to grow your own vegetables. We are grateful for the interest and involvement of our parents who add so much to the enjoyment of gardening days! Several of our Parents love to share their knowledge, enthusiasm, and expertise with our children! The younger children water our plants and enjoy seeing the bees and butterflies pollinating colorful blossoms! Once the vegetables have matured, we will make our own garden salads, straight from our garden to the dinner plate! What could be more fun! We thank all of our wonderful moms, dads, and grandmothers who have come to help us during our recent gardening days! This is one reason for our little school to be so special! We have the best children AND parents!
