February was filled with educational highlights and special events! Mothers and grandmothers loved the “Mothers’ Night,” celebrating the accomplishments and self-confidence that the children displayed during the evening! Thank you to all who came despite the cold temperatures! It was such a memorable hour of sharing joys of accomplishments with moms and grandmothers!

Asia Day Celebrations! We also celebrated “Asia Day.” It is heartwarming to know that distant relatives and friends of our families can connect now via our Web site posts and see all of the activities of the children whom they cherish so much! A heartfelt note of thanks to Mr. and Mrs. Lu, Maxton and Michelle’s parents who delighted the children by bringing special items from Asia, including a customary red envelope filled with fun stickers and tasty treats! We also received a colorful scroll for our school embellished with beautiful Chinese designs and well-wishes for the New Year! Ms. Yanti brought lovely silk gowns and Indonesian dresses from her home country! Thank you to the Lu family and Ms. Yanti for sharing their cultures with us! We learned so much about the Chinese New Year’s customs and traditions!

“Thank You,” Parents! Our Valentine’s Day was packed with fun activities; from exchanging Valentines, to tasting strawberry muffins, to making special cards for parents. Many parents brought creative, non-edible Valentine treats for the children. Thank you to each of you! The children loved all the festivities!

Map Making Presentation! The children were fascinated by Ms. Kiisa Wiegand’s presentation of how maps are being made in Georgia! Ms. Kiisa is in charge of the map making division of the Georgia Department of Transportation. Everyone went home with a new 2015 map of the State of Georgia! It was a most interesting experience for the children and adults alike! We deeply thank Ms. Kiisa for sharing her talent and knowledge with our children!

Spring Parent-Teacher Conferences! Ms Hanne will schedule Spring Parent-Teacher Conferences throughout the month of March. We will meet at 12:15 PM or at 3:15 PM, depending upon your child’s schedule. Please let me know which days of the week would be most convenient for you, based on the email that I sent out a few days ago. The conferences usually last about 30 minutes. We will set up a convenient time within the next several days.

Spring Is In The Air! (At least we hope soon!!!) We are joyously anticipating warm weather, and the opportunity to plan our gardening activities. We will be in need of a few volunteers whenever the weather improves to help us with preparing our flower and vegetable beds for planting. Please let me know if you would like to participate. We may call you on the spur- of- the- moment when we have a warm and sunny day!

Summer And Fall Sign-Up Are In Full Swing: To our great delight, many of our children are already signed up to return for the 2015-2016 school year. If you have not reserved a space for next year, please do so at your earliest convenience. The re-registration fee for the next year is $200.00. It will assure that your child is guaranteed a space for next school year! Please note that the fees for the 2 weeks of camp in July have been revised to 50% off the regular monthly fee!

Open House, Saturday March 28, From 11:00 to 2:00 PM! Please share with your friends the positive experiences that you and your children have enjoyed here at CountrySide Montessori School! We have found that “word- of- mouth” is the most effective way of promoting our school, along with the Internet. Please encourage your friends with young children to schedule a trip to CountrySide Montessori School for an informative visit about the lifelong benefits of a Montessori education. Let them know about our website and Facebook to view all photos and events that feature our mind-stretching educational school activities!
March Birthdays! Carrigan will turn six years old on March 3rd! Luke Galloway turns 5 years old on March 8th, and Rahim will be 5 on March 9th! Happy Birthday to all!

Mid-March Break!. We are closed on Friday, March 13th and Monday, March 16th for Mid-March Break. CountrySide Montessori School will be closed, so please enjoy some quality “family time!”

“Thank You” To Our Volunteers! We always deeply appreciate everyone’s contribution to helping us out when we are in need. A great big “Thank You” to our car pool volunteers, Gosia Galloway, Erica Rhodes, Jessica Cooney, and Shelby Harper! We thank Tara Holland (Facebook Coordinator and Flower Fund raising chairperson), Doug Ingram (Web and Internet Consultant), and Gosia Galloway (our Box Tops Coordinator). I would like to thank Doug Ingram and Jarrod Roberson who rushed to our aid to help us with our website intruder! We are so fortunate to have the best parents! Thank you so very much!

You may know that Ms. Hanne attended a 4 day refresher course in February that was required for our continued AMI Accreditation. It was very enlightening, interesting, and filled with new and uplifting information that I can use in the classroom to even better inspire your children to increase their love of learning!

The Math Curriculum Night will be rescheduled for a later date in March. We will announce the date in the near future!

Remember our Flower Fund Raiser
to help pay for a new Petting Zoo visit
to CountrySide in April or May!

The word education must not be understood in the sense of teaching,
but of assisting the psychological development of the child.
