CountrySide Montessori School – August 2013 Newsletter

Our new 2013-2014 school year has just begun, and we extend a heartfelt welcome to all students and their parents who are a part of our CountrySide Montessori School Family this year!

After a wonderful summer, we are excited to welcome back all of our returning students, and we warmly welcome our new students who will begin their new school year with us. Even though we just started back to school a few days ago, the children have already comfortably settled into their new school routine and school environment. The first few days have gone very smoothly and enjoyably! Everybody is excited to be here, and we are looking forward to a wonderful new year, filled with new discoveries, joy for learning, and making new friends!

Our first CountrySide Family Picnic was enjoyed by all! With the weather cooperating fully, everyone had lots of fun! Many of our new parents joined us for a relaxing morning of watching their children play and frolic, while they enjoyed getting to know the other parents. The food was so delicious! A great big “Thank You” to everyone for taking time to join us!

Meet our new students! We are very pleased to introduce to you our wonderful  children are new members of our class! We welcome Hendrix Kundla, our youngest student, Natalie Cuellar, whose parents are from South America, Luke Galloway, whose mom is a native of Poland, and twin sisters Emi and Gia Hoang, whose parents are from Vietnam! We love the diversity of our families, and we are so excited to welcome you to CountrySide Montessori School!

New ballet class sign-up in progress!  It is our hope  to offer again ballet classes through “Creative Movement” for this upcoming school year, taught by the talented Ms. Kim! If we have six or seven children signed up for ballet, we can hold the ballet class at our school. Please let me know at your earliest convenience if you want to sign up your child. So far, three children, Addison Cook, Cadence, and Carrigan have tentatively signed up. We will know by August 23, if a class can be formed.

“Thank you” to our wonderful vounteers! This year, we will have an outstanding team of two room mothers!  Ms. Jessica Cooney, Matthew and Joshua’s mom, who was last year’s room mom, will be joined by Cadence’s mom, Ms. Meredith McClean, to plan and organize the numerous school activities of CountrySide! We so much appreciate your dedication to the welfare of our students and school! Ms. Jessica has also generously volunteered to regularly update our facebook site and communicate with parents via E-mail, in addition to helping the children with their reading progress. Ms. Meredith is resuming her assistance with copying, laminating, and organizing materials for our class. Ms. Kirsten Ingram will also help us when needed. Several parents, Tracy Cook, Stephanie Bodine, and Ms. Jessica, are organizing and participating in our new composting and recycling projects! Ms. Tracy also wants to help on Fridays with carpool. Mr. Steve Bodine, Addison’s father, and Addison Cook’s dad, Mr. Mark, will lend their expertise with minor handy person work! Sullivan’s parents, Katie and Charlie Robinson, and Penn’s mom, Ms. Kiisa Wiegand, offered to organize and carry out fund raisers for CountrySide. Ms. Kiisa also wants to continue presenting monthly special science projects and demonstrations to your children.   Luke’s mom, Ms. Gosia Galloway, offered her time listening to children’s reading and helping clean Montessori materials on a monthly basis. Adeleine’s mom, Ms. Kelly Morris, plans to assist Ms. Hanne with selecting music and additional songs for our children. Ms. Kandice Jutis, Ariana and Keira’s mom, is assisting with marketing, and Mr. Doug Ingram is helping promote our website presence on the internet!  Hendrix’s mom, Ms.Natalie Chapman, loves gardening work and wants to help us with small gardening projects, when needed. Ms. Karen Suiter, Sydney’s mom, offered to help us for anything with which we need help! She just donated two car seats for emergencies. We greatly appreciate her kindness!

We sincerely thank each of you for offering your time and good will to participate in your children’s school activities! Children love to see their parents be part of their school! If you have a special talent that you wish to share with the children, please let us know!

Parent to Parent Networking!  I would like to offer a new feature on our website, which highlights our parents’ professions and work. It is a very simple process for you, if you wish to place your name, business, and related information on this website page. This will give you the opportunity to network with each other. I think it is a great idea! If you are in the real estate business or specialize in interior design, for example, you could include pertinent information, so that other parents might contact you, since they know you already. If you are interested, please let me know.

Curriculum Night! Our first Curriculum Night is scheduled for Thursday, August 22, from 5:00 to 6:00 PM. Our topic is “Practical Life, and your child at home!” Child care will be provided! This topic is very interesting and helpful to new parents. If you have not attended a Curriculum Night in the past, please join us! Please RSVP by August 21, if you plan to attend. Thank you!

Labor Day Weekend! CountrySide Montessori School will be closed for Labor Day weekend on Friday, August 30, and Monday, September 2. Have a wonderful holiday weekend!

We look forward to a most enjoyable and positive experience for your child and your family here at CountrySide Montessori School. Please feel free to drop by, if you wish, to talk about matters of importance. It is best to come before the morning rush, at noon, or after 3:15 PM.

Mr. Bill and I, and the staff of CountrySide Montessori School, thank you again for having selected CountrySide Montessori School for your child’s early education. We deeply appreciate your trust and confidence in us. We will work hard to ensure your child’s primary education will be a meaningful and positive foundational experience that your child will enjoy, and be of lasting benefit throughout his or her life. We hope that a child educated at CSMS becomes the adult whose love of learning and curiosity about the world and society in which he or she lives leads to a harmonious, productive, rewarding life.

                        With warmest regards,

                                                            Ms. Hanne and Mr. Bill
