Asia Day with Ms. Yanti – February 8, 2013

Asia Day with Ms. Yanti was fabulous! The children were treated to a lavish display of Asian items, ranging from luxurious silk gowns to Indonesian tea cups. They tasted Jasmine rice with chicken, using chop sticks;  they sipped Jasmine tea and listened to soft Asian music. We created art work incorporating Chinese culture, and some children practiced the art of Origami. Everyone brought an interesting Asian item to share with their classmates. We touched foreign coins and bills, marveled at beautifully carved items, and sought the help of the globe to understand where Asian countries were located, such as India, Indonesia, China, and Japan. Our students were fascinated and loved these wonderful experiences!
